WINTERIZING QUESTION

I've always understood you're supposed to store it with a full tank. However, I've also heard that this new gas doesn't store very well, so I'm not sure how to answer the question. I just thought I'd throw one more thing in the mix to consider...

Full tank where we are with Stabil added. BGO has the new E=10, where we are CY we just have good ole gasoline.

I usually leave it 3/4 to full and add stabile. One benefit is that I can use the gas for my generator in case of an extended power outage.

The recomendation is to drain the tanks for the winter with the new gas.

I have a small amout of gas in my tank from test runs and will drain soon.

But I have never stored full before?? I have added stabil and thats it. Any water you might get will be so small that if you have a water sepratoe (wich you should) will take care of it!

THANKS BOYS, AS AIRSLOT SAID, WE DO NOT HAVE ANY ETHANOL IN THIS STATE YET. SO LOOKS LIKE A FULL TANK WITH STABIL.

Heck Cy, that might be a good investment this year. I'd have to guess that prices will be higher in the spring, so you'll have a 60 gallon head start.

If there is a good day and the fishing is just red hot, drop me a line. It would only take me 40 minutes to meet you at the ramp. Have boat / will travel.

do you not winterize your Airslot?

and heck yeah, if its hot i will give you a call, if mine is still in the water, we can just use mine, and you would not have to drag yours up here.

Rock season is just around the corner ;D

Nope, I don't recognize the idea of winterizing. I use mine all year. Usually I take 6 weeks off involving all of February, and I run her on the muffs every couple weeks then. She stays locked and cocked all year. January is the best month for ocean rocks anyway.

I do the same as Slot - never winterized an outboard in my 8+ years of boating. She gets used quite a bit all winter long here in NC.
