Yamaha RingFree

Yamaha Ringfree- $49.00 per quart at the local marina. I like the stuff but come on, WTF are they thinking? I think I might try without it? Any problems with that on this Opti? I mean I promise to run the hell out of it and not allow carbon to build.. LOL! :embarsed:

I use SEAFOAM. Costs ALOT less, and seems to work just as good. With a DFI run good oil in it as it has an anti carbon build up additive already in it since DFI's are prone to carbon build-up in the crank-case by nature.

I use seafoam also in my 2 stroke. I just did a decarb consisting of 1 gallon of fuel mixed with a 16oz can of seafoam in a separate tank. Ran just above idle for 15 min. Let sit 15 minutes and then repeat once more. Smoked like hell. Replaced the plugs and she's running better than ever!

I just checked, my cost on a 32 oz of ringfree plus is $47.31. I checked one time comparing Chevron Techron from Auto Zone vs RingFree(is Techron), the per treated gallon divided by the cost ended up being cheaper with the Ringfree. Its been while, I'll check again

I use seafoam. Currently $11 bucks, used to be $9 bucks. I bought a couple cases at a Napa grand opening for $4 bucks a can.

Seafoam has been in the tank before, my diesel likes it too. I just can't remember Ring Free ever being so high cost per quart. At $49.00 with a cost of $47.00 why bother to stock the stuff on the shelf. I commented to the clerk that I thought it was high and when he rang it up he said it priced higher than marked but he would honor the as-marked price. I bought the pint, it was mispriced as well.. LOL! I think it treats two tanks full.

The way I have not been using the boat and as utterly efficient as this Opti is sitting in the garage, I need to stop complaining over a few dollar$ and $tart using the boat$.
Bumpkens with the bling has set me on fire, I am so ready for a break.
