Rub rail rope

I have an 86 V20 with a rubrail of rope. I'm not much up on what was standard equipment. Does anyone know the size of the rubrail rope? It looks to be 1/2" 3 strand nylon.

I re did mine with 5/8" before.

On my V 18 I was able to take the rope out and put it in the opposite way. The inside of the rope was still like new, just needed a little cleaning.

5/8 commercial grade led rope light..... Jus sayin

Its 5/8 poly I think. Not nylon.

Good idea turning it around....I think I'll do that this spring.

I used 5/8" OD silicone tubing. Sealed the ends with clear rtv silicone.
