Matthew Perna entered an open door manned by two Capitol police officers who did not attempt to stop him. Matthew did not carry a weapon, assault a police officer, or damage any property. His family said he stayed within the rope lines and took photos that afternoon.

Matthew—by all accounts a gentle soul, a devoted son and friend, a man who loved his country—had never been in any legal trouble in his life and presumably believed he, like any American, would be treated fairly by the justice system. That's not what happened. What Matthew and his family, as well as thousands of his countrymen, quickly learned is that they would be used as human pawns in the pResident's regime’s vicious and vengeful war on terror against Trump supporters.

Ok now you’re going with excuses …..” vicious, vengeful war on trump supporters”.
That was trumps violent mob that attacked our Capitol, attacking police andmaking threats to kill our Vice President .
ANYONE not authorized also entering the Capitol during that put themselves in harms way.
You want to spin it otherwise , that’s your business but it’s spin.

Matthew Perna was not violent. He attacked no one. He walked through an open door manned by two Capitol police officers who did not attempt to stop him. He took photos. When two alleged acquaintances who followed Perna on Facebook notified the FBI that he was one of the individuals on the FBI’s wanted list, he discovered he was on the list and turned himself in to his local FBI office. A week later, six FBI agents arrested him at his home, He was charged with a felony count of obstruction of an official proceeding and three trespassing misdemeanors. With the case drawing out, Perna plead guilty in a plea offer. But Matthew Graves, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, according to Perna's attorney, planned to seek a lengthy prison sentence for Perna after he plead guilty to all four charges. “What drove him (Perna) over the edge was the government announced it would seek an eight-level enhancement [to his sentence] for threatening to cause physical injury to a person in order to obstruct the administration of justice,” said Perna's attorney. Perna, who committed no violent crime and has no criminal record would have faced 57 to 71 months in prison.

...
A hugely insensitive and morally wrong thing to say with people dying fighting for their lives
because of a vendetta against a former President and anyone who supported him.

I am making no excuses for Trump. But you seem hell bent on making excuses for prosecutorial misconduct.

A friend writes

"Actions have consequences." But most of the time, they do not. What were this man's actions, and what were the consequences? Apparently he walked past helpful policemen, walked around, took pictures, left. These actions had consequences - detention without trial, despair, suicide. If he had been a wealthy grifter, he would have faced no consequences. If you're Joe or Hunter Biden, you can make money, big money, suborning or collaborating with governments; you might even be allowed to walk around and take pictures without being jailed. If you're of the approved class, you can quite literally burn cities, kill people, destroy whatever you want, and you will not be hunted, jailed, prosecuted. You might even be allowed to walk around and take pictures - actions which, according to some, are treasonous and require permanent detention, without bail, without hope of trial. If you are correctly affiliated, you can riot and burn, night after night, forever if need be, and your government will not hunt you down, will not imprison you, will even allow you to walk around and take pictures - all without consequences.

But yes, actions have consequences, sometimes, for some people. So choose better friends and associates, do not keep wrong or unapproved ideas, do not walk around and take pictures, avoid consequences. Above all do not protest your government, not here, not in Canada, not in Russia, not in China. There will be consequences.

Excuses , and more excuses .

If you run out into traffic and get hit by a car…..it’s mostly your own fault.
Same applies to your nonsense on this topic .

Jan 6 investigation committee wants the court to force release of documents between trump and lawyer that may be specific to the Jan 6 insurrection.

If they get that it will forever destroy the lawyer/client privilege so entwined in our Constitutional law. The same as a spouse cannot be made to testify against their partner. Just one step closer to communism Comrade. But of course you cannot see that since you're blinded by your hate for President Trump. You're like a sheep being led to slaughter, You just trustingly follow the Judas goat (Democrats)

Just the FACTS about the lying cheating con man traitor trump, nothing more

So? What, exactly, do you think that proves?

.

Says destroyer who claimed there was no insurrection attempt.
Now many FORMALLY CHARGED with Insurrection.

Meaning youre wrong again destroyer as you also tried to minimize one of the most historic events in our nations history by trying to call it the few that got rowdy.

Okay, ya got me partner.... I'm a going fast <cough> Tell Aunty Emme I said good bye.. <cough>.

I guess I would be remiss if I pointed out that those FORMAL charges only came after almost a year and only after the AG was urged by the Democrats to make such charges because people were saying that no one had been charged with insurrection and so the demonstration could not have been an insurrection attempt and it was blowing holes in the Democrats sham investigation of President Trump's involvement (or lack thereof) in the demonstration.

But believe what you will. You're right, some people have now been charged with that crime.

I don’t just “ believe what I will “ as you write destroyer - I check and follow the FACTS.

Trump supporting violent mob attacked our Capitol Police, smashed into our Capitol with intent to stop the legal transfer of Presidential powers, while also making terroristic threats to kill our Vice President . Attempted insurrection - a major, violent, illegal historical event in our nations history.
Approx 800 people already arrested so far as our Justice System conducts the biggest investigation in our history.
And several now, after careful and legal confirmation - charged with sedition against our nation.
