Just got the call from the mechanic. Replaced the fuel pump and found another leak coming from a hose coming from the carb. Fixed both. $500.00 cash

Do you think that since it was hard to start on the initial startup it could have been the leaking fuel pump? Once she started she would start on the first crank fast but not when sitting for a week or two.

I just called the shop working on my boat engine. They said they are waiting for the part ( the fuel pump) they didn’t give me a price yet but I’m sure it’s coming. I’m thinking if the fuel pump was leaking and it was that might cause hard first starting.
