4.3 litre Mercruiser question--90 Amp fuse on Starter Solenoid

Hey guys, especially Thefermenator, I believe my electrical problem is likely the 90A fuse on the starter solenoid. Owner's manual states "A 90 amp fuse is located on the large post of the starter solenoid. This fuse is designed to protect the engine wiring harness if an electrical overload occurs." In addition, OM states "A 15 amp accessory fuse is located on the rear of the engine. This fuse protects the accessory circuits." Any help which y'all can provide to find these fuses would be appreciated.

And next logical question would be what might be causing such a large amperage fuse to blow? I DO NOT want this to happen again.
 
any local Mercruiser dealer should have them, you can aslo try a NAPA store(good luck explaining this to the parts guy) if not try boats.net or ebasicpower.com

Spares gonna know more about the I/O's than me as I haven't played with many of em. I would get a test light and start seeing where you have power and where you don't. Then trace it back and see where the power stops at.
 
Well, I replaced the 90 Amp fuse, which was no easy task, was excited that I had fixed my problem, but no go. Still no power anywhere but to tilt and trim. All fuses in the panel are intact, and all connections in the panel look fine. I am pretty pissed. Guess I will have to go buy a test light. I have no experience with electrical issues, but the 90A fuse blew before and I had a mechanic fix it. Had the same issue--no power to anything but t & t and it was the 90A fuse. So,,,, I thought I would try that, to no avail. The 50A circuit breaker appears to be functioning (push the red button and the little yeller lever pops out, then pops back in). The 50A breaker did not cut out when the engine died.
