Appendicitis

Started having stomach pain at work yesterday around 2 pm......it kept getting worse and I left at 4 pm......got home and was doubled over at that point and my wife took me to the ER on my doctors advice. After exams and tests (including CAT scan) I was diagnosed with appendictis and by 11 pm I was in the OR having it removed laproscopically. I had 3 tiny incisions in my freshly shaven belly. Got home by lunch today. I am popping percoset right now but hope to go to Advil tomorrow. Still managed to go watch my sons Little League game though!

It is not fun! On their pain scale of 1-10 I went with an 8 at worst only because I had kidney stones 14 years ago and that was a 10+!

Recovery time is supposed to be minimal with possible return to work Monday.....might have to milk one extra day out of it!

Kevin,

Hope you are feeling better soon. The party is still on for tomorrow, and there will be plenty of cold beer.  That has to somehow help the healing process especially when mixed with percoset !!! :oh:

must be the week for PAIN I just went thru a four day ordeal with a tooth that was horrible ending with two and a half hour root canal, the third I had in my life but by far the worse, serious pain about 8 on the richter scale also. still two days later I am sore on the whole side of my face.

Hope you feel better soon Kev and get Old School out where she belongs

glad you're feelin better whale. My cousin had his appendix rupture at a Mets game years ago. He puked [serious projectile] all over the people that were sitting in front of us. It was pretty serious drama as it happened but we got him to a hospital REAL quick. Of course we laugh about it now....those poor people in front......nasty

must be the week for PAIN

You aint kiddin WILLY, I woke up this morning SUPER tired. So I went back to sleep for awhile and woke up CHOKING and coughing and spitting up blood. Got in to see the doc and he thinks I have an absest infection in my throat and will need to have my tonsiles removed(never had it done as a kid). Problem is that my throat is swollen so bad they can't see what is wrong with it. So he gave me a shot and some antibiotics and I have to go back next week to find out for certain. I'm so tired that I keep blacking out from it as well. THIS SUCKS!

Hey Kev how you making out, feeling better yet?

And Ferm good luck with the throat, been a painful week for a few of us:nut:

Doing pretty well. Haven't missed any of my kids ball games. This laproscopic surgery is great. I actually came to work Monday (surgery was Thursday night) although they were all so shocked I'm thinking I should have stayed home a week and nobody would have thought anything of it. Sore around the middle and no lifting but not bad all things considered!

My wife stayed out for 3 weeks when she had hers out, of course the QUACK who did hers did it the old fashioned way. Now she has a hernia because of it.

I'm not the letigious (is that a word?) type, but if I were, I'd sue this dipstick for causing my wife so much unnessesary pain.
