Battery placement ideas

I was wondering where a good location ( towards the bow) would be for two batteries on a 75' cuddy

Sounds like yer puttin' a trollin' motor on the bow...I put two Group 31s in the rear floor hatch and ran the wires under the floor (in the very bottom of the hull under the floor hatches) and up front to compartment forward of the cuddy (mine's got a little snap-on flap covers the opening)...actually ran the wires thru a length of irrigation tubing first, then pulled it all thru, that way wires themselves stay dry...did all that in 1999 and it's worked like a charm since...just don't scrimp on wire size...:party: more details and pics if ya need 'em...:beer:
 
If it's for the main power, be sure to go up at least one wire size from the battery to the motor. That is a long distance.
As for that model, it was intended to mount the batteries in the bilge and not to be deep cycle at that.
I put battery trays with straps, also installed a battery/bilge guard.
At some point in every boat it comes down to chasing lures, tools, baitfish or trashfish to the bilge.

A cover would have been great except after measuring the mounting locations I would have to order some weird size batteries and I ain't much on custom parts.
So the next best thing and easily installed and removed!

Hey that looks like a good idea. What I'm really thinking about is trying to keep the weight of the batteries ( two group 27 ) away from the back of the boat

I get what you are trying to do...these hulls ride as good as any 20'er, however too far forward and your batteries could take too much of a pounding...that aft-most floor hatch I mentioned is about as for forwards as I'd wanna put mine...of course you can go farther forward to the next floor hatch and probably not get in too much trouble...I just drilled a hole in the top of the back wall of the hatch and ran the wires out that way under the floor...would work fine for what you are doing too...try and find grommets to seal the thru-holes if you can...
