Big bass on live bunker

The plan was to get back to the black sea bass but I gave the beach a try early for stripers on acres of bunker. Got a 23# and 33# on live bunker and broke one off on a jig. In front of the gun range at Sea Girt 25-40 ft of water. Between 845am and 10 am.

By 10 am it got too breezy for me to go anchor a wreck for BSB. Drifted live bait for another hour and called it quits.

Going again in the morning 7-9am

Nice job. Seems like every day that I'm free to get out the weather doesn't cooperate. Need to get some Stripers. Hopefully Saturday.

Thanks for that report. Things might actually start looking up now for Bass fishing!:nice:

Nice catch. The bass fishing has really been good. I went out yesterday morning and got two live lining bunker. Then the bass went into a frenzy right in front of me chasing bunker clear out of the water all around my boat. I released 6 more on a popper.

I went yesterday too. Kind of sloppy out of the north. Hung around Sea Girt with one live bait and jigs. Nothing. quit at 9 am. Where were you?

I was off the Lavallette water tower. It made for a slow ride back but it was worth it. I got back to the dock just before noon.

11/3- we got out late 10 am. Beautiful day along the beach north of Lavalette. Humpback whale eating bunker in 25 feet of water. I'll be posting that video to YouTube when the striper fishing is done. We got 3 bass to 35", kept the smaller two. A lot of bass were too small to eat the bunker, just molested it on the surface. Lots of 5 pound bluefish biting the back half off the bunker. We had to leave at 3pm. Fish crashing bunker schools the whole ride home. Going in the morning for a few hours, hope the west wind holds, I fear it might go SW.
:nice:
