2ndchance

Well it has been awhile since I last posted. It was a very busy summer and I hardly fished at all. I hope to start posting more soon. Right now the 2ndchance is down for maintenance prior to Striper season really starts happening.
I took my yearly King Mackerel trip on the Miss Hatteras Friday. I hooked up 5 Kings and landed 1 & 2/3eds >:(

The portion that the Shark left me weighed 18 LB's ;D
I lost 2 at the boat and 1 more after the run.

I still had a large time ;D and will go back again.

Damm 2ndchance, you did disapear off the map for awhile. Figured you went to Bayliner.com or something.  ;D
Glad to see ya back.  ;)
How's my bracket doing.  ;D

Well Hammer the bracket is still hanging there with the old 115 on it. During the summer I started noticing a slight fuel smell in the bilge so I pulled the tank again, I found 3 pin hole after I wire brushed it. I'm going to use marine tex as a temporary fix until I can swing a new tank. As far as Bayliners go I heard they make good yard ornements ;D ;D.
I never saw the shark that hit the King because he almost spooled me prior to biting all the way thru. I had maybe 10 wraps of line on my spool. We don't use heavy tackle for Kings, 30 LB test on an Ugly Stick Tiger rod with a Diawa SL 30 reel.

Do you eat the kings? If so how do you prepare them. I have about 60 lbs in my freezer from a trip on the Sea Toy out of Pirate's Cove. Thank you,

Eric, king mackerel are delicious steaked and grilled. I also like to sautee king steaks in butter and lemon pepper. They are also great baked with"butt rub" (no not that butt).

Man, my mouth is watering.
