Fall Striper run is on!

Got out at sunrise. Crazy bluefishing right in front of the inlet. Jigged about ten between 8 & 15 Lbs. They were puking up small bunker. Got tired of that. Went north to Spring Lake looking for bass. got a couple blues but slow. Had to work after noon so I headed back to inlet at 930 caught a few more blues. Was gonna call it quits when I just barely made out some birds working out near the Red can.

Bass all over the surface eating tiny rainfish. Would not take a diamond jig. Had to switch to a 3/8 oz jig head and a 3" finesse to have any bites. ended up ripping the finesse down to 2" and then it was on!

They would disappear and pop up 50yds away. No bites deep, no blind bites, they had to be on the surface eating. Ended up runnin & gunnin' to get 6 or 7 before I had to head in.

Had some striper nuggets and pierogies and beer for dinner. Life is good.

I guess with the storm I won't get back out til Nov.

Perfect time to fish is now. The fish can sense the storm coming and are fattening up before the big blow..
