Ok, found this boat by me http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/boa/744880743.html

My question, I have access to twin 75 Mariners that have low hours (20" shaft). Chances of squeezing twins in there?

I had an 86' V20 (actually, I owned it for 4 weeks, sold it to a local marina and they sold it to Hammer........). The 200 Merc was tight in there.....any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

That one looks like a 25'' transom (can't tell).
You will probably have to do some transom work to make them fit.
If you do decide on twins, think about a bracket.
I know the "75's were rated for twin 115's, but I'd be more concerned with the weight.
From what I remember, there was a couple of V's that had twin 75's on them and the owners said they would do around 30 mph.
That would be a great project either way you decide.

Just looked, those Mariners weigh 300lbs each. The 115's in 1975 weighed 267lbs each.

You might be pushing it a little.
A twin floatation bracket and raising the transom to simulate a full transom might get you by, don't know.

Well the price was RIGHT...good buy...I like tsubaki's idea of a flotation bracket that'll handle twins...and you really don't have to close up the transom...whatever H20 you take on will collect in the splashwell just as though you had standard mount, so it'll dump water anyway...you can go ahead and do the bracket and glass in the transom later if you decide to...depends on budget and what size water you play in...keep us posted...looks like a fun project...lot's of potential

i can look at this boat for you its about 10 minutes from my house... it looks well worth it ....the money you save on the hull you could buy a nice new 2008 200 hp e-tec that only weights 427 lbs:sun:

Parrot's point is much like mine...he's got motor(s), just needs hull that'll do all he wants to do AND utilize the motors he's got w/out buying additional...my whole premise for gettin' a 21 recently was based on whether or not my (paid-for) Honda would hang on the tranny...
