Guitar makers Under Siege

So much for innocent until proven guilty. The Lacey Act is a real legislative POS.

According to that law, they could imprison Wellcraft Boats, all Wellcraft dealers who sold our V20s W/TEAK...AND US for owning them, even though most of us didn't buy new...whoever that Lacey dude is, he needs to be lead out, tarred and feathered, strapped on a donkey and run outta town...when these pin-heads write law, they need to consider unintended consequences...and if they don't have enough brains to do that, then they don't have enough brains to write law...A$$HOLES!!...:bat:

:oh: Anyone care to disagree with me that the enviormentalists are out of control? In the name of saving the enviorment they have become a real and present danger to our Country's way of life and the freedoms that we had. These are the same people that are pulling all that same crap with the fishing limits and laws, etc etc etc. How long do you think it will be before they start telling us what kinds of grass we can and cannot plant for our lawns?:bsflag:

I don't blame the environmentalists...they have a valid point...we NEED to clean up the mess we've made of our country...but it can be done in such a way that it doesn't put people out of work and make the gov't look like a bunch of Nazis...JMHO, but again the politicians who do such a poor job writing our laws are to blame here, as well as, in this case, those who decide how to ENFORCE those F'd up laws...in short, the Fed Gov't...

Reel, I completely agree with you about needing to clean up the mess we've made.. In fact, I belong to the Passaic River Coalition, and one of the things I do with them is walk the banks of the river one weekend every year pulling tires, shopping carts, cans, bottles and junk of all kinds, sizes and shapes from the river and it's banks. But when the same enviornmental groups that are doing so much good cross the lines and start telling people what they can and cannot use, what they can or cannot fish for, what kinds of trees they can and cannot cut, what rivers they can and cannot dam (anyone remember the snall darter?) etc, etc, etc, then I think they have crossed the line, have outlived their usefullness and need to be reigned in. I'm all for keeping the enviornment clean, but this particular story is way beyond just an enviornmental issue. Gibson made contributions to the Republican National Committee. Two of their major competors made contributions to the DNC... Guess which company got raided not once, not twice, but three times... Guess which companies didn't get raided at all.. I'm sure it's just a coincidance...in a pigs eye.

I don't believe these are unintended consequences, number one.
Two, these are not laws created by our representatives.
These are the specific consequences we were warned about by our Founders, of a ever increasing centralized government.
Of a bureaucracy that rights it's own rules and regulations based on it's own agenda and devoid of input or inspite of the input of the American people.
Of a two party system that has as it's main goal to increase it's size and power and get reelected.
Of States who for the same power and control reasons fails to stand up to the Feds.
That's why they have both demagogued the Tea Party as racists, right wing crazies, etc.
How dare the citizens stand up and try to correct this, how dare they interfere with our agenda.
November 2012, if you guys pull the lever for a non Tea Party candidate you are endorsing the destruction of our nation and in our generation we will have lost our inheritance, we will be the generation that lost it, and our children will bear the brunt, pay the bills and live in a socialist society that will steadily decline.
It is that important. Vote. This next election may be the last opportunity for Americans to hold sway and determine our, our children's future.

There needs to be a balanced approach to conservation. IMO this is the typical knee jerk reaction when the govt. is convinced to step in and regulate/tax an industry where there is no teeth to the law and little if any regulation, then the pendulum swings the other way whereby they add teeth/over-regulate to the point of ridiculous. Nobody has the forsight to contemplate the unintended consequences. It doesn't matter, if the law is hurting jobs or businesses. On the hill all is quiet, no problems, because the flow of money to the dimwhits passing the legislative tripe has not been interrupted.
The product seized must have come thru customs. Why was it not red flagged then and there. To disrupt the flow of business at the guitarmakers facility is pure nazi tactics. Send out the stormtroopers in the name of the Sierra club or Greenpiece why don't you! The govt. thinks there is a problem because of the aforementioned groups hype. Never thought about the stormtroopers favoritism. I didn't have those facts and figures either Destroyer. Interesting...:fight:

Yea its a BE Maple. Its a 94 or 96 Epi-Paul but it might as well be J. Page's in my eyes. Its one of the prettiest woods Ive seen and I just had to have it. Its looks the same today as when I bought it and you can still see your face in it.

Id love to see your Jag. sounds awesome!!!! I bet that D-50 sounds sweet too!!!!
