WELL I finally got a V-20 that was advertised in craiglist in the wrong town (Orlando), but in Tampa. The hull is in good shape with some heavy cleaning coming my way, the floor, hull and compartments were free of cracks and soft spot. The motor, not so much its a Johnson, 150 V6 that has been neglected (mud wash nest). Since i'am a aircraft mechanic, not a marine., im going to take it apart and see what i find., not expecting much there. I do have a question, where can i get a 1986 Wellcraft V20 owners manual. so i can double check my wiring and fuel line, vents and cable. i like to get this one back to orginal condition. thanks for any help given.

Congrats on the purchase....I also have an 86. Wellcraft did not make year specific owners manuals or really many owners manuals period. There's not all that many things to get power to on a boat so just jump on in there and figure out what goes where.

We need pics soon by the way!

86 v20 step lift,

here are some pictures of the boat. the 85 Johnson o/b 150 v6 will have to be torned down and check to see how much can be saved. This w/e i will take more photos, do a complete cleaning, and inspect as much as i can get into and start writting my "to do list". i was able to download a owners manual from Wellcraft with wiring diagrams. I was also able to find a service manual on the Johnson v6 on ebay. Where does one get parts for the hull? like the rope around the hull and strip that holds it?
thanks for the input on the manuals.

Just ignore the X's and find the diagram that fits your setup.

I've also got an 86' came with a sea drive I've got an armstrong bracket on it now.I was just looking at yours and comparing set up.Mine has the fuel tank up front, rectangle well in middle, and another hatch towards rear.
I'd like to redo my wiring someday, but it's such a mess under there i just don't want to get that project started.

thanks for the wiring diagram. i am going to check wiring make sure no corrosion or new changes were done. and do my cleaning this weekend.
SAFE BOATING EVERYONE.

.

I wonder if because of the weight further back on with the Sea Drive they moved the fuel tank forward for weight distribution...My 86 with outboard looks EXACTLY like that one....with exception of those teak strips for cooler I would guess on the floor.

Other than that scary bottom JetBlue I think you are going to be amazed at how well it cleans up...You got all the parts and pieces it seems.....It looks like the boat was maybe on some sort of lift with just the *** end in the water?
