most economical 200hp to put on a v20 cc?

First I agree with the rest, If I had the cash I would go new.

But if its gas your worried about why not go with a good 150?? 200 is over kill for these boats unless you want a go fast boat, which these were not made for in the first place!!

I have a 23' Sea Ox heavy boat!! and all i have is a 175 and it gets great gas and I still cruz at 25+ knots top out at 33 knots.

How many days you think you going to be flying in your boat?? Lay off the throttle, the motor will last longer you beat the boat less and yes you will save gas!
Same here! I had the chance to power a V-20 with whatever, new the V6 2 strokes were all within a few hundred bucks at the time. I chose a 150 because it was really adequate, you can argue that 46 mph is slow but that'll give you a 30 mph cruise. A boat used offshore can seldom cruise at 30, if you are an inland guy go with the 200.

I recently put on an 02 Yamaha 150 2 Stroke and love it. I also just added a garmin GFS 10 and had a chance to take a look at the numbers this weekend. With 3/4 tank, 4 pob, 2 dogs and a cooler of food I was averaging right around 3.5mpg at 30 mph and 38-4000K. WOT I was still getting 2.2mpg at 43mph and 5400rpm's. I couldn't be happier. I had an 2000 Johnson 150 before and although I didn't have the GFS I averaged right around 2.2 the entire year I had it so I am up atleast 1mpg.
