Just got my 1974 Wellcraft v20 repowered got the job done at Tuckerton Marine in NJ. Very good shop.
Orginally I brought it to another shop. Anchor Outboards in Bayville NJ. The price was the best after calling around. After getting the boat there the price changed alot. Finally we worked out a pkg. He then took 3 months and still didnt do the job. I had to pull it out of there and bring it over to Tuckerton. He did refund my deposit though. Well here is a couple of pictures of it as it was going in the water. Im looking for a couple of things like the canvas to close off the cuddy cabin. if someone has one please let me know. Thanks this is a great site for a great boat.

Welcome to the site!! Boat Looks great!! I have a 1975.

79.7* here right now 50% Hum 56* Dewe Point, I know what you mean I am sweating to heck!!

Airslot here are some of the details.
I orginally was going with the Suz 140 the shop I got it from stated to me he had the motor in stock. a week or so after I got the boat to him. They called me and stated he didnt have the 140 in stock and would take at least a week extra to get the motor. And he would give me the 150 for the same price he quoted for the 140 due to his mix up. I asked about the weight of the motor the The 150 weighs 460lbs. the 140 weighs 410
The 150 comes with stainless prop. the 140 has a alumium prop. The boat had a 115 johnson and the transom is in very good cond with all the trim intact.
I havent gotten to get out full throttle but it gets up on plane at 2400 and cruises about 35 at 3000. Its very good on gas dont have mpg I have 2 - 30 gallons saddle tanks which I removed and had boiled out and cleaned up repainted. filled uthem up first time out havent even put a dent in them.
I didnt get a real great gauge pkg. only rpm and it has lamps if there is a temp problem. But the harness has all the plugs if I decide to get the other guages which I have seen on ebay for alot cheaper than the dealer was offering. My family are very into boats my 2 brother in laws have v20s also one has a older 235 evinrude,
and the other has a new yamaha 115 which has been in and out of the shop a couple of times, The 150 or the 140 suz are both great engines very quiet running at a idle people have asked me if the engine is running.
at 3000 rpm it is still alot quieter then the 115 and feels much more powerful. any other questions let me know Also I will get up a couple of better pics soon. have a great weekend and hope you catch some keepers....
Gabe...
