LOL I'll tell you guys what personally I think it's an ugly boat and def not a V20. If you guys want to take it out 40 miles i'll sit at the dock and once you get out of sight i'll call the USCG and tell them i think my friends in trouble he was last saw leaving the dock in a ugly drug runner looking dingy boat LOL.

LMAO

I'm surprised no comment about the Cat Boats from you Tin, have you checked them out

Yea willy, the cat hulls do fill my requirements. I have a friend in FL with a 19' er and got kind of a bad taste from his ride. His boat actually lists to the opposite side when making a turn! Took some getting used to. Is that the norm? I don't think so??? His is a Shoal Cat. They're kinda pricey too.

I've heard good things about the Twin Vee 20' Outrageous. When you move up to the 22' it uses twin o/b's. I could probably get a 6 or so year old 20'er with a 2 stroke for the same as the new Panga. I havn't ruled them out yet.

I talked to a guy today about a 21' Parker. Yes it has a 14* deadrise so it won't be the smoothest in a chop, but will be pretty stable driftin the rips. A lot of guides and FF around the Nor East swear by this hull. There is no raised platform fwd, which is nice, don't have to worry about losing a client in the drink. That's the reason I'd like to stay away from a bay boat. It's better to saltwater fly fish
in the boat rather than on the boat, I'm talking in the rougher stuff not necessarily the flats, They are definately pricey and it would be an older hull with a 2 stroke for now.

I also talked today with a semi local Marina that has a 70's vintage Sea Craft 20, hull only for 2g's, says it only needs cosmetics, but doubt that! But if it WAS solid I could put on a new 4 stroke Johnnie/Suzie and a new trailer and be in my price range. I may look at that one tomorrow.

edit: I guess leaning to the opposite you are turning is the norm for cat hulls. Just found this:

Banking ("Leaning" for some)
The lateral attitude of a vessel, applicable to moving vehicles as well. V-hull boats, bicycles, and motorcycles bank into a turn. Powered catamarans on the other hand, are more similar to cars. They tend to bank out of the turn, and it takes a little getting used to! If you think of your cat as riding a bus standing up, it's the same idea.

You have the layout I'm looking for! The whole deck is level, right? But you can get up on the fore deck in the calmer seas, flush mount cleats and pop up bow light too. 18* deadrise to boot! I want your boat!

Here you go!

The Twin Vee is one of the ones I was on, they do handle with a different feel Tin, sort of flatter thru the turns and from what I understand that depends on whether single or twin engine also. It wasn't as exagerated as that hull you described but I did feel it and got very comfortable with it quick. I'll tell what else I felt, or rather didn't feel, no slamming thru chop no hard bounce in bigger stuff and we drifted arcoss a sand bar just inches deep. And drier than I thought it could be. Only problem I saw was trailering, it has to be a special style but other than that gets my vote as the only really do everything well hull.

Willy, I agree about the ride. Everyone I read about that has a cat hull swears they will never go back to a monohull again!

I'd love to get the 22'er with twins but big bucks for me right now.

Hey Tin this would be the perfect boat for you and it has little draft, deck drain, floation and a new2004 4 stroke Suzuki and New 2004 Five Starr Trailer 20' Sea Ox in NY

Click Here to see the Sea Ox

That boat is 2 miles down the road from me! I looked at it a few weeks ago, love the motor! But not into the dual console layout.

Hey Tin, I'm sure you already know, But if you check the links section of this site you'll find one for the classic Seacraft site. You may want to read some of the info there before going to look at that Seacraft

Thanks for the tip, Mulv. I'm at that site daily too. I've done my research on those. :) I know almost all the older hulls need attention, IE: transoms, soft floors, poor deck drainage, 20" transoms. But they are such great hull!
