rub rail rope

I've never done it, but I have it in my mind that one person guiding the rope while the second person uses a rubber mallet to seat the rope and it would go pretty easy?

Do on a HOT day and let 2nd person SPREAD the rubber ''jaws'' as you feed the rope in ... easier on the gelcoat ;) ...

i used a pair of plyers and had the wifey use them in to open the channel while i followd with the new rope and a hammer and screwdriver.

My one word of advice is to leave extra when you get to the end, mine shrank up a couple of weeks after i replaced it and now there is a 2' gap where they meet at the stern :-/

Assumin' ya don't use cotton rope(ya reely don't wanna do that)...once you cut it, singe the ends w/a Bic lighter ... it'll keep the cut-ends from unravelin' ;) ...

Hmmm, how far from the boat to Irish Eyes...I can spend the night in the cuddy 'cause I ain't drving that far afterwards ;D

I can only aspire to as great as the likes of OZ, Willy, and Franco....but it gives something to aim for every day ;D
