seat base box

My V20 which I inherited from my Dad will be coming out of the shop soon with a brand new 4.3 liter v6 Mercruiser 190 h.p. I am excited to get her out after a fairly long period of dormancy. I need to replace the port side back to back lounge seat--the wood has rotted out. I would love to replace it with a seat mounted on a fiberglass or king/star board box. I have seen seats from Springfield Group called flip backs that I really like. I have searched the net to find a box like I want to no avail. I have a similar one on my Formula with the helm seat on the front and the back has a hatch to access the enormous amount of storage in the box. Any ideas on where to find such a seat base would be appreciated.

there have been a million guys ask where to find one of those (including me) and no one can for a decent price.

So good luck and if you find one please let us know. ;)

You know what? It just dawned on me. I am selling my Formula, so I am going to remove the box from it, put in a nice pedestal helm seat, and put the box in the V20 with a flip back seat so people can face aft!

See just need to think a bit!!

You know BS with his talant should start making V20 parts and sell them, we keep him going for a long time!!

hey reelapeelin, you have got just the type of seat base I am looking for in your V20. Where did they come from?

Reel made his boxes, thats were the gas tanks are, This way anything happens he nreally goes out with a bang!!

That is hammers seat box that came with the boat. Don't know who, what or where.
There's a little better picture but I can't remember where it is.

if hammer would send it to me i'd pop a mold off it. i was going to pop one off my Sea Ray seat boxes but they are way to wide,

Somebody take Hammers seat box off while he's not looking when yall are there and send it to Skool's.

I'll go over there after the mold is made and we will go into full production.

Seat boxes all around!!!!! ;D

What would y'all think of using something like these. they are designed to sit on. It might be cool to cut the lid in 1/2 so the back portion could open up and provide access to the storage. I'm thinking though that cutting lid in 1/2 would significantly weaken the lid. Oh jeez--i'm terrible at copying stuff. Go see www.dockbox.com

that might work, could add a support in the center, or mout the box with hinge in middle of the boat, now when you open it the seats will open to starboard side.

I am thinking now!!may be just throw the cover away and mount upside down!

I am really liking the idea of taking off the lid and mounting it upside down. Things might get wet in there, but I wouldn't be putting anything in there which just had to be dry anyway. Thanks for your help guys.
