God
i'm replacing the fuel line from the tank to the filter/water separator. like a jacka$$, i pulled the old line out without attaching the new line to it. why? because i'm a cheap bastard and it didn't want to buy 9 feet of line if i only needed 8. so i yanked it out to measure thinking it'll be a breeze to push a snake through and just pull the new line into place.
so apparently, what they did at the wellcraft factory was to install a rat maze under the deck in which to run the line. AWESOME!!!
so my stiff fiberglass rod snake wouldn't do the job so i figure maybe my fish tape will do the job. where the hell is my fish tape?? i think i must've walked by it 26,000 times over the last quarter century. now, the dam thing is nowhere to be found. seeing as how we live in absolute squaler, in a house with far too many rooms.... i'm confident i'll never see this particular tool again.
so a good friend of mine is a plumber and he has an assortment of endoscopes and has aggreed to lend me the 3.3 footer. i'll bend and shove with a length of 100 pound mono taped off to the camera and hopefully, i can get it through to run the new line, which i saved $4.29 on by the way.
worst case?? i discovered that i could easily find the area underneath the splash well. if i cant run the line under the deck... i'm just gonna have to drill through the splash well and mount the filter/separator to the wall of the splash well, mount the bulb in the well and off we go. i'm gonna get this all done and test her out before i decide to replace the line from the filter to the motor, being it'll be a bich to work on that while laying all over the motor. we're still in the water and absolutely nothing is easy to access. of course, we always have plan B which is to go down there with a handful of 12ga slugs and sink her at the dock.
