Spark plugs?

I just ran across some information by accident. I was Pep Boys picking up some stuff and just for laughs asked if they carried the NGK spark plugs for outboard motors!!!
They did!! At a 30% savings from what I had just checked on at the boat store! WTF!!!
From now on I know where to get my spark plugs.
Does anyone else have knowledge about savings on plugs and etc??

NGK aka NFG hope you didn't put them in a OMC motor Johnson Evinrude motors like and run best on Champion most use L77JC4 best place for them is alsom O'Reilly's


let me just say the NGK is one plug i hate and see more problems with than any other to me they are the junk plugs of the market.

X2.. Almost every car or engine that I've worked on over the years that had them had problems.. misfires, hesitation, etc.
I know some ppl swear by Autolite, and others by AC, but for my money I'll stick with Champions. I've never had a problem with them. (Bosch is pretty good also) :head:

Unless it's a rice burner. I've tried CHAMPIONS in YAMAHA's before and they ran like crap, swapped in NGK's and ran like a champ again. MERCRY's have been hit or miss for me with which ones run best. But OMC's HAT NGK's with a PASSION! Larger WAL-MARTS also carry marine plugs for even cheaper than the auto parts stores.
 
NKG rules in the country only problem i have had with them is people using wrong heat range for there driving habbits
 
my merc loves the ngk, but my trenchers with wisconsin's have to have champions. toro small 2 strokes like champions, but the tanaka's & echos love the ngk's.

My 2 STIHL chainsaws like NGK's, but hate CHAMPIONS and BOSCH. I've always used the rule of thumb to go back with what the OEM used. They spent alot of time and money figuring out what works, so why not stick with it.
 
I've sold thousands(probably 10's of thousands) of NGK plugs over the years. I have yet to find one NGK plug that was bad out of the box. I have never seen one that was worn out. I've found them fouled by gas, oil and water, but never worn out. Years ago, I worked on cars, were stocked Champions. generally out of a box of 4, I'd find at least one that was bad. the only reason I put Champion junk back in a motor is if its called for by the OEM. Once we did a back to back dyno test on an OMC looper with a dyno. It was the k$O dyno that reads psi, not HP, we went back and forth between the same set of champions and another set of NGK's. The K&O is not the most accurate dyno, but we consistently got 20 psi increase over the champions, we went back and forth on the plugs, the NGK's consistently made more psi. Auto light makes a good plug, but they rust real quick in a marine application. AC has a plated plug thats usually the OEM plug in most GM blocks. Mercury uses NGK across the board except for a few 3.0L applications(something to do with interference with the ecm). Yamaha uses NGK exclusively. Next time you have a regular(not one of the high dollar ones, just a standard plug) Champion plug laying around, drop it on the floor, it will shatter including the core. You can do the same with a NGK, AC, or Auto light and the core will remain intact. The only application I've found that a champion does better in is in a lawn mower

I don't know how many trans won't shift right and check engine lights I fixed by putting a set of CHAMPIONS in when I worked at DODGE. The customer would always say I just did a tune-up and now it won't run right, put in a set of worn out CHAMPIONS to prove to them that the plugs were the problem.

same debate ford or chevy ---gay or straight ---- use whats rite for you---dont no about you guys but im straight
