That's right, I burned about 10 gallons of gas cruisin around on High Rock Lake yesterday evening. ;D It was a real rush to drive the V20 after so much work and anticipation. The 140hp performed well. I didn't have my GPS unit with me but it felt like top end was around 30 or so give or take a couple. :-/
Friday night me and the little lady went to Bass Pro Shops in Concord NC. I bought a lot of stuff:
- Uniden VHF Radio (white)
- 3 new docking cleats
- bow and stern lights
- 2 white LED strip lights
- 4 new plugs
- 4 new bimini mounts
- snap replacement kit including snap plier (bimini)
- lighted 6 switch panel w/ fuses
- 5ft bilge hose (already have a pump)
- 2 new white docking bumpers
- in line fuel filter
Wanted to buy these also:
- stainless destroyer steering wheel (not in stock) :'(
- 4 new 30 degree flush mount stailess rod holders (they had only 1) :-/
- gas lines and 3 way connector (didn't know how long)
Saturday I got quite a bit done. I did a final patch job on some of the screw holes on the boat. I used rubbing compound on the hull below the rubrail, then came back over it with a good wax. Changed the oil in the lower unit. I cut a dash panel "covering" out of the 1/4 inch starboard I bought. Temporarily mounted my controls for the test ride. Did the pressure washer thing to my saddle tanks according to the instructions given on an old post. After all of the water drys out, I'm gonna put about a gallon in each tank and swish it around real good and pour it out to get any remaing flakes and gunk out. I think I got it pretty clean already.
Today, I need to order some awlgrip paint, the steering wheel, the rod holders, kicker mounting bracket and anything else I can think of that I might have forgotten to mention.
3 1/2 weeks left to finish this project...will I make it in time? (lets hope so)
