Thresher at the Monster Ledge

Added another first to the SkunkBoat catch.
We weren't really prepared for sharking (2 big rods but tiny useless gaff and no gun). Ever try and tail rope a thresher?

So were calling it a "release"...

At Monster Ledge of Mud Hole on a freshly caught bluefish fillet.

Looks like Wednesday will be a V20 day. Maybe skip work and look for tuna and mahi and sharks offshore.

Nice

Looks like you picked a nice day to head out. I will be launching at Shark River for my first ocean voyage after I get the bugs out in the Delaware River.

I will reach out to you when I head to your area.

Awesome I enjoyed the video did the camera get knocked down in fight? Yes you do get a release I understand how it goes. Well their is the V-20 weather this week and the Tuna are HERE. about 50miles off! Good luck. Get a flying gaff I see you always went the distance am surprised you didn't have one.

Got a gaff. Going long tomorrow. Will troll Glory Hole early for bft & mahi, then drift shark baits. Seas 2ft.

"We Suck" Fishing Team rides again

Good for you catch them up! I would be out their too but the Step Up puked a motor! Already bought a long block should be here next week new no rebuilt stuff. Hoping it will last my lifetime since the present motor lasted 25years being salt water cooled. May the Tuna Gods be with you.

Beautiful boat ride 32 mph to the Princess area. no tuna no dolfin.no flyers no life.
Guys on radio were slaying bft south of me but I was already 53 miles from inlet and couldn't go wandering that direction without a plan. Turns out they were 10-15 miles south in the south end of Chicken canyon and the area some call the Triple Wrecks(20 miles east of the Fingers). Its a place I could have gone to on that flat day if I started out for there and didn't deviate. One guy had 17 bft.

I ended up heading back to the Monster ledge for sharks. No bluefish showed up so we were stuck with twice frozen mackerel. Lots of browns in the slick that didn't want a whole leftover stinky mackerel but were loving the chunks. we didn't really want to catch a brown so that was ok. Finally at 4 pm I put a chunk on a spinning rod and caught a 40 pound brown just to say we weren't skunked.

My new gaff is still a virgin.

120 miles running at 5k and 32 mph. 3+ hours of trolling at 6mph. I haven't filled up yet but I'm between half & quarter tank, maybe 40 gals?
