Trim Tabs on 86 V20 CC

Just bought this boat and it is in fairly good shape except soft spots in floor. i have a set of used trim tabs I bought and if I mount them in the optimum location, the hydraulic fittings and lines for the actuators will go thru the transom and be exposed in the splash well to salt water. If I mount them far enough outboard for fittings to go thru the transom and into the covered cap compartment, I will have to cut access panels to assemble and tighten actuator hydraulic fittings and lines. Wondering if anybody has run into this and what was their solution. it has a single 150 Merc but the transom appears to be cut to accept twins.

in case anyone else runs into this, I contacted Bennett Marine and they said I could step down to one actuator in this application and mount it in the middle set of holes on the trim tab. This moved the actuator mounting holes on the transom over enough so I would not have to have the mounting holes and hydraulics of one of the twin actuators exposed in the splashwell.

Ahhh... okay. Now your original post makes more sense. You never said that your tabs had dual pistons and for the life of me I couldn't understand why you were having a problem with the splashwell. In all cases glad you got it sorted out.
