Wanted to buy Seaboard/Starboard WHITE

i am in the market for some WHITE seaboard or starboard...

if you have any pieces that will fit the following sizes, let me know what you have and your price.

1" thick .. 1 piece 44" x 15" this is for my fish box cover

3/4" thick .. 1 piece 13" x 20" front anchor locker door

3/8" thick .. 1 piece 24" x 20"

that stuff is insane expensive... any thoughts on what else i could use? i suppose used teak is not any cheaper????

i keep coming back to this, but i have yet to use any myself. A guy told me they use it for trim boards on Vynil sided houses. They call it PVC board, it comes in board sizes so if you need a long length of it, its available and not so expensive. I called around and found a coulpe of lumber supply houses that handled it. If you try it, let me know how it works. BTW, it comes in several colors
 
I agree on the expense of it, here is one more supplier of it (not cheap) and other stuff.

Didn't see 1" thick stuff there but there is 3/8" in Starlight and it's about half price of Starboard but looks only available in gray.
Years ago I got ahold a couple of 2'x4'x 1/4" pieces of yellow PVC board and have yet to see it available in this area.
My only concern of using PVC is the product by it's nature is subject to temperature extremes. PVC will degrade in sunlight, producing a white chalky finish. It will also crack from twisting or stress. The other thing is it will shatter like glass near or below freezing temperatures.
A PVC board would be great for a lot of applications on a boat, keeping it's limitations in mind.

I just redid all of my hatch covers in my boat with 1/2" starboard....i bought a half sheet (54"x48") at a local plastic distributor for $90 bucks....but found out when I got home that they only charged me for a 1/4" sheet....so I think I made off like a bandit

But I called around afterwards and found that some of the tower and t-top fabricators around the area said they could get it for me for cheaper...so you may want to call some of those guys

If you need small pieces there is a guy on ebay that builds stuff out of starboard and then sells all of his scrap for pretty cheap....i picked up a 12"x28" sheet of 1/4" for $12 shipping included.....just go to ebay and type in starboard in the search....he should have a bunch of auctions that show up

Yep, there are a bunch of em on fleabay. I searched "starboard" and came up with over 200 matches, about half of them were the material you are looking for.
 
r wilson ... i have been on vaca .. took my 3 girls (10,8,2) to see mickey and goofy ... well, they see goofy at our house every day :)

i have been putting together the parts i need for the sliding cooler . i scored some stainless steel drawer slides on ebay, waiting for them to show up. i have been modifying my leaning post to fit the cooler under it.. have been working on laying out my new gauges, and fixing some cosmetics on the helm, and getting both helm and leaning post sanded and ready for paint. need to order some ss hinges for my leaning post cushion and get them drilled and mounted. would hate to scratch fresh paint!!

man .. i hate cutting fiberglass .. just hate that itch !!! and i am too dumb to cover exposed skin, so that is how it goes.

i found a source for starboard .. but also found pvc board that should fit my needs at a much lower price.

not sure what happened on the sliding cooler post, but i am still looking into it.

saw your pics on another post .. your boat is looking good !!!!
