i need to pull out the force cables so i can get a measurement....i'll try to go do that now....

here's the engine stand...even after i modified it it still wont let me get close enough to it...but i may be able to get it mounted with 2 people, but i'm trying to get it so i can do everything myself, mount and unmount motors... i might have to modify the front hoist legs so that are alil more spread out.

What length cables do you need? I gots cables.

The Teleflex works either way. Usually mounted the other way around though. Doesn't really matter I think

Give me them cables back you theft!! ;)

I was going to throw them in the trash before CB saved them!!

I have done my alone, but I use a come along or a chain fall.

I don't know hjow high that thig you have goes, but if you mke the stand legs short on the oter side from the motoer that would get you closer? The weight of the motor would be on the long leg side and balance nice.

Just getting over the top?? Or come at it from the side??

Or hang a chain fall or come along in the garage and transfer to it to add to the stand, use the hoist for mounting on to the boat?

I should have tossed them! LOL

I tryed selling then giving and no one wanted them??

My basement is so full I had no were to keep anymore!

So CB saved them from the grave!

I will teach you to take my stuff and give it away!

i just went a tried to come in from the other side of it...it didnt do much good....prob is the width of the stand....i'll have no choice but to modify the hoist legs..

i would use my rafters in my garage but it was built in 1942 lol i did it once with a 85hp force and was scared chitless the whole time....lots of creaking lol

i guess i could just mount it on the boat instead of putting it on the stand , kinda wanted it on stand though for awhile till i was able to go through it and make sure it would run before mounting.

here's a better pic of the legs..

Add 4'' blocks between casters and stand....then motor-lift oughtta roll right under from the side ;) ...

That stand looks strangely familiar ::) ... ;D ;D ...

lifting the stand is a good idea, but then I know think you could di it alone??

Reel has a good Idea, put stand on a pallet the legs will go under the pallet, mount the motr and then lift motor and stand toghter and put down on floor!

well just talked with my fishing buddy..he owns a canvas shop and has welding machines and stuff..he said bring the stand in to modify it this week...also he is gonna make a motor harness for me....just need to find some thick webbing and some D-rings...and wake up early one day this week lol

the stand it too heavy to pick up and mount...good idea though!

pikfish.. its extended all it can go...

Awesome Kajun!! Id like to know what kinda performance you get with it. Ill be watchin this one for sure!!

I heard once that the OMC 140s were big gas hogs....Skools?

actually a 140 is ok on fuel. they are actually a 120 with 200 / 225 intake, reeds, and  225 carbs. You can turn a 120 into a 140 by buying a set of 200 / 225 intakes with reeds and use the upper half then a set of 225 carbs the upper 4 and you are riding high with 140 poneys.

Kajun,

My 85' 140 hp was pretty decent on fuel I thought. I haven't sold the motor yet  so let me know if you need anything to get yours going.

I think you should buy the whole thing for spare parts, I'll let it go cheap. Good lower unit and everything! ;D

Another thought........If you were to buy my old motor, would you be able to use the intermediate section and lower unit to make it a 20" instead of buying a jack plate? Just a thought, it might not be that simple.
